Nihaal | Family & First Birthday Smash | Orange County

The Pooni family looking all spiffy in cobalt blue, a first birthday, and well my favorite open field made for a pretty perfect summer session! Let me introduce to Nihaal. He turned one over the summer and I was the lucky one to meet such a character. Hands down Nihaal makes the best faces ever! He amused us with smiles and puckers throughout his entire birthday session. If someone had a camera on me too you’d see us all cracking up. I have a feeling he’s going to be the life of the party one day. Until then here are some of my favorites of the lovely Pooni family of three.

Vicky & Ed | Maternity | Orange County

I might be bias because of the fact that they are one of my previous bride and groom, but aren’t they just a perfect pair? I had to post this beautiful maternity session soon- before their pretty princess, Isabel arrives in October (which is literally just around the corner). So here they are at one of my favorite locations in all of Orange County and their session couldn’t have turned out any prettier then I imagined it. I don’t know if it was the warm summer evening or the touch of romance I saw between the two, but Vicky’s glow was definitely beyond the typical mama gleam. She was in her element, which showed in every. single. image! Now for daddy-to-be. You know what’s amazing to me? I have seen sweet Ed grow from a timid newly engaged young man, to a confidant married one. Now it’s like he’s made full circle and is back at the novice level in this new baby phase of his life. But I know he’s ready to become daddy-of-the-year because just like with their engagement, they are prepared! They’ve taken classes, conquered the nursery, and are ready with open arms to welcome baby Isabel. I just can’t wait to meet her!

Stephanie & Randi | Engaged | Laguna Beach

Stephanie and Randi just tied the knot a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d better hurry up and post their sweet engagement session before it’s time to reveal their absolutely adorable wedding images. These two are just the best of friends and compliment each other so well. He’s a brain, but she’s a brainiac. She’s basically the code to his perfect program! See what I did there…ha ha. They are both Beatles fanatics, dinosaur lovers, and will do anything for their doggie, Sexy! Oh and look below. Sexy is so sexy she walks around in the buff (I’m on a roll, ha!).

With their quiet responses and tight shoulders Stephanie and Randi didn’t have to tell me they were a little camera shy. I quickly turned their timidness into laughter. I literally had them laughing in about point two seconds. Here’s the secret…I just laugh obnoxiously and if they don’t run out of fear I tell them it’s my fake photography laugh and then come their genuine smiles. Okay my clients might think I’m crazy after, but I think they secretly love it!

No, but really I was so humbled by the feedback I received from Stephanie and Randi. They loved their images because they felt in their element and it showed! Congratulations Stephanie and Ranid for finding love and finding each other! I can’t wait to blog your perfectly detailed wedding!

Baby Landon | Newborn |Rancho Cucamonga

It’s always a beautiful thing when a baby is born! Michelle and Andy welcomed their bouncing baby boy into the world this summer. Landon just melted their hearts, as he did mine when I photographed their lovely family of three (now) at their home in Rancho Cucamonga. Although the sun was shinning bright that morning the three of them made their session look like a breeze! Lots of giggles and tender touches was the key to a simply sweet newborn session.

Landon has a very chic nursery with lots of grays and chevron patterns, but what his daddy wanted most was to get a shot of baby Landon on top of his Dodger’s baseball shirt. I’m a Dodger girl myself but I never thought of how cute a baby could look while surrounded by all of that baseball gear. Good job dad! Oh and to this family’s surprise their session was gifted by one of my former brides (she’s also a dear friend). How generous and absolutely thoughtful is that, right?!

Congratulations on your first born Michelle and Andy! May your stretches of sleep be long and your days till your next Dodger game be short:)

Marina Turns One | Smash Session

It’s funny how life brings us full circle. I’ve recently had a boom in photographing my high school friends, classmates, and even just my old high school peers. I’m just loving it!

This adorable little tike just turned one this summer. Her mom, Christina, and I go way back to our track days. Last year I photographed Christina’s pretty belly and then soon after Marina as a newborn. Now, I am tickled pink that I was able to capture Marina’s first year session. It’s when families choose me to photograph the milestones, important celebrations and annual family photos that bring me so much joy. I love witnessing families grow, especially those that I’ve had a strong connection with in the past, like with Christina.

When Christina came to me with her session ideas I was floored. I mean I’ve pretty much seen and done it all when it comes to birthday themes, except for this one. She mentioned that this was her “first rodeo” so she needed a little help as to what to bring fro the session, but she knew that there was going to be lots of yellows and pops of red for Marina’s …(wait for it) Cheerios theme! Gahh. So cute and yet so unique. Right away she explained how Marina loves to eat Cheerios so that was it. I gave her a mental high-five and told her I couldn’t wait. The session was too cute for words with Marina’s adorable smiles and all! Happy birthday pretty baby girl!

Ellie Turns Two | Birthday Session | Belmont Shore

Here she is! My little darling baby girl officially moved out of toddlerhood into a full-fledge kid. Whaaa! I’m just kidding. I can’t wait to watch her grow. Unlike her brother who practically spoke full sentences (no baby talk) coming out of my womb, she speaks as babyish as they come. She says adorably cute things like “dash-some” for “can I have some” and “mememade” for “lemonade” but my favorite is “ow-weeze” for you guessed it “Eloise.” So although she’s growing I can still count on the little things to make me feel like she’s still my baby girl. Can I just stare and squeeze her all day long?! It’s more then her sweet little voice, pudgy toes, big bright eyes, and “Boo” like appearance. It’s the giggly and tender love that she brings to our family each and every day. I still pinch myself knowing that I have a girl. Happy birthday to my pretty little gal!

Mr. & Mrs. Montiel | Married | Noor Pasadena

The connections you make with people in life are fascinating! A couple of years ago I was contacted by this super sweet girl to photograph her and her adorable family. After meeting Monica, the cutest little five foot nothing sweetheart and David who was a whole foot taller then her I knew they were the kind of couple I would obsess over. Their fashion sense was crazy good. They were the kind of couple worth melting for (yes, it’s a Frozen reference lol) because each one of them had a heart of gold and their son was just so squeezable I could pinch his cheeks off (but I wouldn’t, duh). After I photographed their family for various celebrations and holidays David contacted me to help him with his surprise proposal to Monica. I was beyond excited for them, so of course I agreed and snuck my little ‘ole self on over to Santa Monica where he got on one knee and she said yes! I la la love watching my families grow and being able to photograph their celebrations and journeys in life make it that much sweeter. A few months ago Monica and David tied the knot and I was there again to capture all of the fashion, fun, and the love they share.

Monica’s dress was beyond! She had it custom made and well any Stuart Weitzman shoe is a-okay with me! David, as always, was on point with his blue fitted suite, pink bow tie, and rockin’ socks. They are those fun kind of couples so ya she was busting a move to some 90’s hip hop jams and pretty much everyone danced the entire night! Congratulations Monica and David it was a pleasure being apart of your life’s journeys.
