Our 6 Month Old

Here are photos starring the most handsome 6 month old in the world….You know I had to introduce my cutie pie like that. Every mother in the world thinks their baby is the cutest and smartest. Like the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so of course your baby is the best, just like mine… I just said it out loud. Babies are precious and we are extremely blessed to spend every living moment with ours. Hope you enjoy my son’s fashion show.

My lil bebe’s 1/2 birthday is around the corner. I am so excited! We are having a 1/2 year birthday party for him this weekend. And what a better way to kick off his celebration than to take a 1/2 year photo session. Here is a peek of only some of his handsome photos!

Introducing Carter Scott

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the adorable and very active baby Carter. He celebrated his birth-day less than a week ago. This ‘lil champ came in weighing 7 pounds and was a lengthy 21 inches; all legs I tell ya! Carter was such a feisty little guy that it was hard to get him to stay still let alone fall asleep for those fresh out of the oven newborn looking photos. Carter baby you sure are a spunky one and I love the challenge.

I usually use this basket for all my newbie babies but Carter decided he was just too long for this newborn stuff.

He’s a handsome fella!I just want to nibble on those delicious hands!

Summer 2011

I was determined to make this summer better than last summer, no matter what. And it was! For those of you that didn’t know, I was a hermit last year, not by choice. I was stuck in bed all summer from the most annoying case of morning, day and night sickness. Fortunately, it gave way about five months into my pregnancy and then I was blessed with the cutest little bundle of joy ever! That’s why this year I decided to make up for all the summer I missed. My family and I went on a lot of short day trips to the beach, various Los Angeles museums and free anything (concerts in the park, shopping at new hot spots…etc). But the two best vacays were to the Orange County Fair and a road trip to Arizona. I took a ton of family photos but I thought you might get a little tired of seeing how adorable my bebe smiles for the camera….so instead here is a mini photo collage of our journeys.

The fair had the best looking and tasting food.

Sadona, AZ had so many colorful works of art and life-size statues.
The weather was extrodianry. It kept on changing. One second it would be bright and beautiful the next it was raining and gloomy, which gave off different gorgeous hues of colors. Can you find the rainbows in two of the photos? Breathtaking!

The Franco Family: Celebrating 5, 7 and 11

Oh to be young again…No, I mean really young like when summers days seemed to last forever, the only care in the world was what was for lunch and birthdays, well they were the next best thing to ice cream and cake. The Franco kids have a tradition of celebrating their birthdays together. They were all born, a few years apart, but only a couple of weeks shy of one another’s birthdays. So to make it simple, they compromise by having one big pool party birthday bash. It’s kinda cool how their mom lets each one choose their own character theme for their treats and sweets! Photographing these youngsters was like being a kid all over again. I was tempted to roll in the jumper, scream at the top of my lungs, “canon ball” and glide my finger across the delicious looking frosting on the Hello Kitty cup cakes. I’m just saying! Looks like you Franco kids sure had a great time.

Paul Frank, Hello Kitty and Cars theme! Great choices kids.

Everyone was having fun in the jumper.

Kids of all ages were splishing and splashing.

The Franco’s were awesome to photograph because they loved being in front of the camera.
Their cousins were some of the guests at the Birthday Bash.

Hat Day

I just recently got a new Fedora, that I’m totally in love with. I think I’ve worn it four out of the last five days. On Sunday we had an outing with my husband’s family. The weather was pretty darn hot. Yes, I thought! It was the perfect opportunity for all three of us to wear our Fedoras. It would give us some shade and a little style. Below is my lil guy’s grandpa, my husband’s father. Another moment captured! I heart my Fedora and bebe!

Photography, Love & Happiness

You know the old adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” This saying is supposed to mean that something so complex or indescribable will make sense after looking at a single image. Basically, you should just feel a connection or maybe the light turns on after catching a glimpse of an intense or meaningful image. Many photographers get that intense feeling after their own wedding photographer took photos of them on the most magical day of their life, their wedding. My wedding pictures were Amazing, with a capital A. But I think my heart for photography goes back a little further. Loving photography started in high school I just didn’t know it at the time. I know that doesn’t make sense but to make a long story short my best friend was taking film photography and I was her model, I guess. Actually, who am I kidding? I couldn’t afford all the fancy equipment to take the class so I always begged her to let me play dress up for her photo projects. I’ve always loved dressing up so I guess that’s another reason why I would never pass up an opportunity to get in front of her lens. She agreed and I dressed up, used props and even creatively directed her shots. I know I’m making it sound a ‘lil fancy but remember I’m talking about high school. So that was the beginning of my yearn to create magical photographs.

It wasn’t until I had my son that I knew life was much too precious to not capture everyday moments. It’s through his eyes, that I now look at the world differently. If I got three wishes, I really would use one to have world peace. It’s through his smile that I know whatever or whomever made my day a little difficult didn’t matter anymore because he used his smile to turn my frown upside down. Bare with me I can get a little first grade cheezy. And after the photos are shot and I look back at the image of him I am grateful that I caught that moment in time where I can remember how these pictures are worth more than a thousand words. They are the memories I can always treasure, which brings me love and happiness.

I am on a quest to continue capturing these little memories, because they are the best. Sometimes people forget these moments if there isn’t a special date or holiday connected to them. Below is a photo of my cutie at the beach. Don’t you just love his smile, I do!
