Family: Pumpkin Patch

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is probably my favorite Halloween cartoon of all time. I just love how simple and innocent it is. That being said, I love Halloween even more. The dressing up, holiday crafts, candy, and most of all the pumpkins. Maybe it’s the color or maybe it’s the smell? Well whatever it is that makes my heart pitter patter for pumpkins probably has to do with the search for the “Great Pumpkin.” This weekend was our turn to search far and wide for that perfect pumpkin. My family (I’m talking about my husband, baby, sisters, mom, and sister’s boyfriend) and I went to Tanaka Farms, in Irvine, to take a ‘lil promenade through the patch, eat pumpkin seeds and hitch a ride on the tractor!  Actually it was my very first time at a real pumpkin patch. Yes! Usually we get our future jack-o-laterns at the local market or mini-patch. But not this year. This year had to be extra special because we’ve added a new member to the bunch. Ya, that’s right our bebe is tagging along now and from here  on out, we are going to make it a tradition!

I think we just found the “Great Pumpkin.”

The sisters got into the action too!
This tie is made with love, from me!
Baby seems a little nervous on the tractor. Or maybe he’s just had a long day.Family portrait taken by my sister, Thanks Marissa:)

Photo Booths: Ralph and Emily’s Wedding

About a month ago I got super excited to design a custom made photo booth for a fun and creative couple, Ralph and Emily. Then, this weekend, I had the honor to take the photo booth pictures for them at their wedding in Arcadia. When I met Emily I knew she was one of those awesome brides, you know the ones, that get what they want done a.s.a.p. but still allow their vendors to add their own creative input. We also had help from her amazingly sweet sister, Diana. Diana has been her sister’s right hand women since the beginning of the engagement. Initially she was the one that got things moving along with the design. Then we all met  and our meeting went like this; I sketched, she agreed, and ta-dah her glamorous red, white and damask photo booth was born. Ralph, her husband was such a great sport. He let Emily do all the decision making. Love those kinda men! Finally the evening had come and I was thrilled to see all the guests using the silly props and frames. I know Ralph and Emily’s photo booth memories will be unforgettable because the guests displayed their affection for the newlyweds through humor and their loving smiles. Congratulations you two love birds!

Celebrating a 1st Party

My son attended his first birthday party last weekend. I think, no, I know I was more excited than he was. Not only do I love decorating my own parties, I love getting and sharing ideas with other fabulous mommies. I especially get excited when the parties are themed, which this one was; a cute safari theme! The birthday had the usuals: a pinata, treats for the kids, a monkey cake and a face painter. Holla! Again, I got a little too excited for my own good. But, who could resist getting their face painted with a Hello Kitty design and sparkling cheetah print all around?  Of course I had to match my lil guy. He got a lion nose with whiskers. Check out how cute he looks…oh and this made me start thinking about all the spooky things I need to start crafting for Halloween.

Tiffany: Fashionista

Intelligent. Gorgeous. Stylish. Sweet. These tender words and many more describe Tiffany. Did I mention she is a model? Didn’t think so, but yes she is! One of her many talents is being a lovely print model. Except, she is not your typical model.  Nope, She is as real as they come!  A lip gloss wearing, champagne drinking, USC football loving type of real girl. Along with her modeling career, she makes time to continue her education as she is currently attending the University of California, Irvine’s Education Administration credential program. She has got it going on! I was thrilled when she wanted me to help her update her photo portfolio. We were limited on time because of the sun began to set earlier during these cooler autumn days. Still, with her modeling experience, I was able to capture plenty of fashionable pictures.

Hope these were what you envisioned Tiffany. I definitely love your spirit that shined through my lens!

I love all the different looks she has…she has a peaceful glow to her here.
I played a little with the color for my own sepia take on these photos.Doesn’t her outfit scream Autumn? Love! Her head band added just the right touch to her autumn boho look.

Karen & Ronnie’s Wedding

I would like to say that I appointed myself third shooter of this wedding… lol. Not really, but when I attend a friend’s wedding I like to consider myself their personal third shoot. I know, I know, there isn’t such a thing as a third shooter. Actually, they are probably called assistants to the second shoot; well that was me! My dear friend and sister, sorority sis, Karen, lovingly said her I do’s this weekend in Newport Beach. My husband and I were guests to this beautiful ceremony and reception aboard a triple deck Yacht. Have I ever mentioned that I love weddings? Well, I do. I especially love all the details that the bride and groom put into making their dream wedding a reality. And,  I love weddings even more when they are on gorgeous afternoons, perfect for adding images to my photography collection. I mostly shot pictures of the lovely location because what happens on a yacht wedding stays on a yacht wedding. Also, I wanted to enjoy myself, which means having my husband take photos of me and the bride and groom. Congratulations Karen and Ronnie! I know you are going to have a fabulous and sweet life together and with your scrumptious lil baby girl!

The Yacht

How lucky were they to get married in front of this stunning summer sunset?

I was too far away to get a lot of great images, but I managed to snap this one! Love:)

Family and Football

With a blink of an eye they are all grown up. That can’t be anymore true for my little cousin, Matthew. I am the eldest grandchild on my father’s side but my cousin, Matt is the oldest boy. It seems hard to imagine that he is a freshman in high school.  I can still remember, myself, being in high school and thinking geeze are my cousins every going to grow up so I can have some fun with them? Well, the time has come and I couldn’t be any more proud of him! Truth be told I’ve always wanted a brother but I guess this is good enough for me. Good luck cousin. I’ll be waiting, with my camera, for some actions shots! By the way, he’s number #46!

R is for Ronan

R is for Ronan and relaxed. Yes, he’s the kinda toddler that just likes doing his own thing. While photographing this adorable puckered lipped sweetie pie, I noticed that he was so observant. The tiniest details gave him joy like the broken seashells, raisins, grains of sand and how could I forget his orange goldfish crackers. He could probably pick up a rock and spend hours examining the color, size and shape. Oh, what girl wouldn’t like that? Although Ronan is well into his terrible 2’s there wasn’t a single ounce of naughtiness. His mother and I agreed that his only fault is not liking my big black camera in his face. But what kid, that’s trying play at the beach, would? Our secret sauce to make him smile on cue was none other than the good old reliable tickle monster. Here are Ronan and his mommy chillin’ at Seal Beach.

I told you he had an adorable pucker!

She is a natural beauty.

Love, pure and simple.

Tickle monster!

She is as sweet as pie and he is like a spoon full of sugar. And together, of course we can’t forget dad (not pictured), they make one beautiful little family!
