Emily & Ralph. Maternity. Orange County Maternity Photographer.

Emily and Ralph just gave birth to their adorable baby girl a few weeks ago.  I think I over-shared their beautiful maternity session on all my other social media sites that it slipped my mind to post on my blog. Well here you go… tons of loveliness from one of the sweetest couples.

Emily, had some pretty serious morning sickness during her first trimester. When she told me she was having a girl, I was like “Ahhh yes!” For some reason or another if you get morning sickness and you are having a girl it’s like at least ten times worse…but oh so worth the precious baby girl that’s on her way. Like first time parents Emily and Ralph are a bit nervous and anxious. I think they’ll do excellent because they’ve had practice watching over their nephew, Noah. He is the cutest little boy (and one of my adorable mini-clients). It just so happens that Noah’s parents are Diana and Ario (another extremely kind couple that are my clients as well). When Diana (Emily’s sister) first spilled the beans that she was pregnant again I was ecstatic, then she told me her sister Emily was also expecting. After that I found out they were both blessed with girls, but my favorite news from them was that I was going to be their maternity and newborn photographer. I just about fell to the floor when they mentioned that both baby girls were arriving only weeks apart from each other. They’ve got some cousin fun coming! Right now I know their homes are exploding with happiness and love. Congratulations Emily and Ralph!

Lydia & Kennis. Engaged. Los Angeles Wedding Photographer.

Lydia and Kennis met through family, but have stayed together for nine years because of their sweet and sincere love for one another. It was Memorial Day weekend when Kennis decided that it was the perfect moment to get this pretty girl’s attention. So he did, and from then on they have been best friends. Kennis is the kinda guy that wears his heart on his sleeve and Lydia is the kind of gal that says what her heart feels.

God and their spirituality has brought them closer together. Lydia, growing up as a Pastor’s daughter, made a commitment to her faith and continues to live by her love for Him while sharing and practicing her faith with Kennis. Before they moved in together, her father blessed their relationship with a beautiful informal ceremony. They are now ready to pronounce their love for one another in front of all of their family and friends this May. Lydia and Kennis you are too cute for words! I am honored to help you capture these memories that I’m sure will go along with many more lovely stories for your children and children’s children to hear. lb1lb2lb3lb4lb5lb6lb7lb8lb9lb10lb11lb12lb13lb14lb15lb16lb17lb18lb19lb20lb21lb22lb23lb24lb25lb26lb27lb28

Honora & Ryan. Engaged. Los Angeles Wedding Photographer.

She first set her eyes on him in an unfamiliar city. After college, she traveled a few hundred miles away to begin her career up North. Honora met Ryan met at work in San Francisco. They realized that they had so much more in common then just living in the Bay. For the past few years, their young urban love had flourished in San-Fran but they have decided to tie the know in down here in southern Cali, where Honora grew up.

During our session, I had asked the cute couple how they had gotten engaged and Honora laughed a bit saying, “Well this is probably the third or fourth time he proposed and now it just feels perfect.” We laughed a bit because we all chatted how timing is everything. Now they are back in her hometown of Rosemead it just seemed like the right time to get wed.

Honora and Ryan are seriously in love with each other as they were cuddling non-stop throughout their engagement session. I knew the best way to capture these moments of their love was to pay attention. They were always so playful with one another and I focused my attention on it all…their touches, laughs, and how easy going their conversations were with each other.I learned that their love is like a warm mug of hot cocoa that begins to heat up your hands as soon as you take a sip. While I watched their overflowing love, they told me some details about the wedding they have planned this coming June. They are urban folk that love escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life to relax anywhere surrounded by nature, so they will have lots of nature inspired elements incorporated into their wedding. I can’t wait to see what they have planned.

Thank you Honora and Ryan for being so fun and lovable!

My love turns THREE. Birthday. Personal.

Hello there my love. Happy 3rd Birthday! We are so proud of you! I’m not sure if it’s because your birthday is in the beginning of the year or because I have very high expectations for you (like all parents do…just maybe a tad bit more), but since you were born, you have met a lot of your milestones before the “expected” time. Except for rolling over. You never liked that (ha, ha). I am in awe of how you were potty trained by two, began speaking in complete complex sentences, and can understand two languages. You are smart because you were allowed to skip the 2 year old preschool room and enter the 3 year old class this school year. You are kind because although it may seem like you have favorite Aunties and Uncles, you pray for each single one of our family members at night, along with all your friends and neighbors, and everyone in the world that suffers from cancer…oh yeah, and the late Toby (Nani’s dog). You are important because you are a super big brother and take this job very seriously. Although at first you were a bit (who am I kidding…a “big a bit” jealous), you are the most helpful and caring big brother. You always make sure she has her “chupon” (pacifier) when she is crying, you like to pretend read your favorite book, Peter Pan, to her and you try to feed her even though she swats your hand away. You totally went through your terrible two’s, but I heard this year is the “Terrific Threes” so I can’t wait for what you have in store for us. We love you lots and lots. You are too good to be true. I want to keep you forever young, just like this, for my selfish self. Yet, I also can’t wait to see you grow in mind, body, and spirit. God bless you E-m-m-e-t-t (Yes, we are also proud you can spell your name)! We love you! Happy Birthday my handsome prince!!! Mommy loves you!eb18eb17eb16eb15eb14eb13eb12eb11eb10eb9eb8eb7eb6eb5eb4eb3eb2eb1

Aileen & Isaac. Married. Orange County Wedding Photographer.

Their love for one another was shared intimately with a few select family and friends. Aileen and Isaac had an private wedding at their family’s home in La Habra Heights. Every detail represented exactly what the couple enjoys eating, drinking, and their love of music.

Aileen had set her heart and eyes on Isaac long before he even knew her. Of course as fate has it their paths crossed and they fell in love.

On this day both families couldn’t be more thrilled as they “spread the love” when they were joined in matrimony. Isaac’s grandfather blessed their marriage with some very sweet and tender words. After the blessing family members shared stories about the couple and how they met. Then his brothers and her sisters continued to give examples of how Aileen and Isaac are true opposite attracts. Some of what they said went like this: Isaac, this tall and burly man, is actually very shy and timid. As for Aileen, she is petite but oh so fierce. Apart they completely different people both in stature and personalities, but together he becomes her calm, and she is his rock.  Today they joined families and celebrated love with great food (can’t forget those gourmet tacos), and drinks (Old fashion Coca-Cola and my favorite Micheladas)!

Congratulations Aileen & Isaac. May your love flourish…(and according to your family….start making babies hee he)!vb1vb2vb3vb4vb5vb6vb7vb8vb9vb11vb12vb13vb14vb15vb16vb17vb18vb19vb20vb21vb22vb23vb24vb25vb26vb27vb28vb29vb30vb31vb32vb33vb34vb35vb36vb37vb38vb39vb40vb41vb42vb43vb44vb45vb46vb47vb48vb49vb50vb51vb52vb53vb54vb55vb56vb57vb58vb59vb60vb61

Christine & Peter. Maternity. Orange County Maternity Photographer.

Who needs to take prenatal classes when both parents are nurses, right? Well these youngins, who were recently married, would rather spend their time on more important things, like food! Yes, Christine is a total foodie like me. During her off days from work, she likes to relax and just nibble on anything because she really hasn’t had any cravings…yet.  She also enjoys being waited on by her hubby, Peter, who loves taking selfies. I’m just saying….while I was focusing on my model, Peter was working his phone. You know I’m just messin’ Peter! This adorably cute couple is expecting their first child (It’s a boy) on April 7th. Woot! Woot! An Aries in the house!

Christine looked dashing in her bright pink dress. You can never go wrong in a maxi dress which she totally worked! Peter was an awesome sport and model, just posing away and allowing Christine’s belly to be the center of attention. Thank you Christine and Peter for allowing me to help you document this journey in preparing to welcome  your bundle of joy!

My baby girl. Half Birthday. Personal.

Yesterday on Instagram I reposted a quote. “Love people while they are here.” I am determined to live by this, and love fiercely. Life is not certain, but I know I want to be a greater presence with those that I love. I will celebrate every birthday and half birthday. With that, “Happy 1/2 Birthday Ellie!” My daughter’s half year celebration seemed to come a lot sooner then my son’s. Maybe because I’m ten times busier. Ay, ya, yai!

My daughter is beautiful and I love her with all my heart (we all do). She is very observant, always watching and listening. She is calm (thank goodness because her brother was a whole different story). Her giggles are endless while she watches her brother jump on the bed (like a monkey…Double Ay!).  Her little tongue slithers out like a snake when she is feeling silly. Her coos sounds like she is saying “mama” and “hi”. She makes us laugh every time she grabs her toes while we change her. She makes her brother crack up with her “pedos” which is quickly followed by her brother’s “Excuse me.” Just like her brother, she’s not a fan of tummy time. Like her Dada, she can sleeps like a log while there’s a party going on. And like her mama, she has to hold something to fall asleep. Currently, her choice of  stuffed animal is my son’s Simba. When I was a baby up until I was a toddler, I had a “raggie” (which is an old cut up piece of cloth) that was literally my security blanket. Oh like mother like daughter. She enjoys sitting…well at least for a few minutes at a time, then plop! She really wants to eat food, bad. Every time we are eating dinner she tries to grab our cups, forks, you name it-she’s ready! Later today she will finally get to join us for dinner as she will try solids for the first time. We are blessed that she has entered our hearts and family. We love her and she loves us.

Happy 1/2 Birthday my dear! Mama loves you!

Isaac. Grooming The Groom. Los Angeles Wedding Photographer.

“Are you kidding me?” This is a typical phrase that I’m sure everyone has either used or heard lately, but it works so well with just about every emotion one is trying to convey, especially one of excitement. And well, it’s exactly what ran through my head when I heard Aileen and Isaac’s idea. As we sat together discussing their upcoming wedding, they laid the bomb on me. This very hip couple decided to opt out of their engagement photos and instead use the time for a “Man’s session” (what I like to call it). Now, as much as I love ice cream, I adore engagement sessions, but their idea to have the groom and his guys get ready for the big day at his brother’s vintage barber shop, Double Edge Barber Parlor, was just the next best thing to ice cream AND cake! I was all in and ready to photograph the heck out of it!

Isaac, the eldest of four (all brothers) is probably the most shy. He sat there, in a pretty bad ass vintage chair, waiting to get his hair trimmed by his brother. Through out the beginning of the evening I gave Iassac a few directions and he was super chill. He just smiled and followed my lead. I could see how Aileen could easily fall for such a gentleman.  Slowly everyone (his two youngest brothers, one of his buddies, father and father-in-law) started to stroll into the shop. They were all a tame bunch of guys, but then again it was a Tuesday night and I was there, literally watching their every move. Some got lathered up while a few were “sipping on some sys-surp” (j.k. Just liquor) and playing pool. Yes, how cool is that? All in all, they gabbed about what they were wearing to the wedding and their day at work. The photos came out fab if you ask me, but that had a ton to do with the fact that they dressed super accordingly. Vest, suspenders, wingtip shoes…uh ya no matter for ladies or gents what you where makes a huge difference. Oh and this couple wanted their photos to have a vintage feel so here is my first ever all black and white session.
