Eva. Smash. Orange County Lifestyle Photographer.

Oh dear me, time really does fly by. It flies so fast that I can’t believe I’ve already taken Eva’s 1st Birthday Smash the Cake photos. I remember when I first met this fashionable family. Eva’s mother, Vanessa, was pregnant with her. Now a few family sessions and a lot of months later, here we are enticing little Eva to smile. Not only does this smarty gal smile, but she was showing me who’s number one by putting up her cute chubsie finger. My exact words were, “Whaaaaatttt?” Followed with, “how did she learn how to do that”? I better get on that and teach my daughter because it looks insanely adorable in the photos. Credit is given to her grandmother for teaching her that cute little number! Vanessa never ceases to amaze me with all the cutesy ideas she has for her daughters. She prepped various outfits, jewelry and props for Eva’s photo shoot aside from preparing for her first birthday which will be and ice cream cone party full of pink, mint and gold. Too good, right? She also couldn’t forget Melody’s (her eldest daughter) birthday, which is right around the corner. So we had her jump in for a few snaps in these photos to double the cuteness. Happy Birthday to Melody and Eva! eb15eb1eb2eb3eb16eb4eb5eb6eb7eb17eb8eb9eb10eb11eb12eb13eb14

Faith. Dedication. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

Little baby Faith is blessed beyond words. As I photographed her Dedication ceremony, I couldn’t help but notice how everyone poured their hearts out to this little child of God. She is adored and loved by all of the beautiful people in her life. Faith blessed each and every family member with an ear-to-ear smile at her Ceremony that was held on a perfect bright Saturday morning at her parents’ residence in Whittier. Faith is the youngest of four and the only girl, so not only is she adorned with oohs and aaahs, she is even treated as a true princess by her three older brothers. God bless you little darling Faith!fb1fb2fb3fb4fb5fb6fb7fb8fb9fb10fb11fb12fb13fb14fb15fb16fb17fb18fb19fb20fb21fb22fb23fb24fb25fb26fb27fb28fb29fb30fb31fb32fb33fb34fb35fb36fb37fb38

Elizabeth & Rudy. Engaged. Orange County Wedding Photographer.

He loves to play the guitar, she enjoys working out and they both just like hanging out with their family. He caught her eye immediately, but like most guys, he played it cool (I’m sure he really enjoyed the flirting) and waited until he was certain that she was interested in him. He approached her eight years ago while working at one of their first jobs out of college.  They went on a few dates and he was totally bit by the love bug….I’m talking a spiderman-life-changing type of bite. Now, Elizabeth and Rudy both work in the medical field. She’s an assistant physical therapist and he’s an EMT. Let’s fast forward a few years to the day when he popped the big question. Rudy first asked her to get away for the weekend and because Elizabeth loves hanging out in Palm Springs (my type of gal), he already knew she would give him the green light to start driving down highway 111. He had planned out a fancy schmancy dinner and when they arrived all the little details simply fell into place. As soon as he got on his knee and held out that beautiful rock, someone was already taking their photo. She said yes and now they are pouring their hearts out into all the little details of their upcoming wedding in January.

What’s also pretty amazing is that Rudy is the youngest of nine. Holy moly! Elizabeth and I both joked about how the ninth time was a charm for his parents. Elizabeth on the other hand is the eldest out of three so you know how that goes.  She’s the perfect match for him and gets to boss him around and he obliges. Isn’t that the how love works? Just kidding Rudy. From what I viewed at your engagement session, you two mutually share in the decision making and are completely enamored with one another. I can’t wait for your wedding!!!

Yvonne & David, Matthew, Luke & Johnny. Family. Orange County Family Photographer.

Yvonne and David are raising the most adorable and well mannered little-boy-trio! Yvonne, a true visionary for sure, went back and forth with me to discuss all of her pretty awesome ideas for this family photo session. The Beatles are her favorite, so she wanted to try and incorporate some of their fashionable looks into her session. This is her first family session in years, but is was well worth the wait because they are expecting their fourth child and…it’s a GIRL! Yes, it seems like the fourth time was a charm for Yvonne and David. All the boys are excited and I think a  little nervous about having a girl around. Even little Johnny is going to have a blast playing with his baby sister. Anyone who is going to want to take her on a date better watch out! Congratulations Cruz family! I can’t wait to see your precious darling daughter!yb1yb2yb3yb4yb5yb6yb7yb8yb9yb10yb11yb12yb13yb14yb15yb16yb17yb18

Kylie. Grad Portraits. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

Senior Portraits aren’t only for high school seniors. Graduate students, like Kylie, can also partake in such photos to capture this honorable time in their lives. Kylie is a probably on her third cup of coffee and snacking on some sort of gluten free dessert while crocheting a purse and studying for her finals. After she graduates this spring with her Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in forensic psychology (That’s a mouthful to say!), she will continue her education and attain a second Masters degree so that one day she may open up her own practice and counsel abused women. Kylie, rock on with your bad self! I loved hanging out with this cool gal and her eclectic style. Although we mostly talked food (we are both big foodies), we had some good laughs too. Congratulations Kylie!!! kb1kb2kb3kb4kb5kb6kb7kb8

Brothers & Sisters. Family. Orange County Family Photography.

The Ortega family consists of three gals and five guys ranging from age sixteen to forty. These loving, athletic and down-to-earth handsome men and beautiful women came together to create a gift for their mother. A gift of the love their share for each other as well as for their mommy.  For as long as they could remember, they’ve heard Lorraine talk about how she has always wanted a portrait of all of her children, but there was never a perfect opportunity. According to this enthusiastic bunch of eight brothers and sisters, Lorraine is a top-notch mom! Since these kids are all pretty much grown up, they said it was easier for them to make up a little white lie (Lorraine please don’t get angry with them as it was all for a good cause) to get away for an afternoon. Since only three still live at home, it made it that much easier for them to get all dressed  up and “shine bright like a diamond” (hee he, couldn’t resist throwing that in there). Now it was a matter of just keeping this plan top secret and preventing someone from going A-wall for the photo. Although their lives are at different places now and only the youngsters live with their mom, they still have one thing in common; they share unconditional love for their mother and think the world of her. After each new story or one of them describing her, I couldn’t help but sigh…”awww.” Lorraine has raised an entire starting basketball team….and some.  They each described how, “She’s always there for us. She makes me feel special. My mom always wants to know where we are or what we are doing because she cares.” Now, Lorraine isn’t just lucky, she’s blessed. Along with these healthy, good looking, and kind souls, she also has one grandson, Dominic, who is also just as gentle and well mannered as the rest of the bunch.

As we were wrapping things up guess who decides to start blowing up everyone’s cell phones? You got it! Their mommy! We all froze (like if she could see us…lol) and agreed for someone to call her back with another little twist in the story. One of the gents called her back and said we were safe…like Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez sliding home (Including Dominic, they can fill the Sandlot). I’m sure by the time they surprise Lorraine on Mother’s Day and allow her to read this post, all of their sneaking around will have paid off and this will be another memory to add to the list. Speaking about memories, let’s not forget about how the guys had preplanned a football style pose they wanted me to take a picture of, so I did…but that one is for their photo album. All of us girls were just busting up, thinking of how they had thought of this way in advance (who says only girls are obsessed with photos?)

Thank you, Anthony, Anthony Paul, Alicia, Gina, Raymond, Angelica, Matthew, and Michael (and Dominic) for all making your session so easy and fun! Lorraine, they showed me a photo of you and you are just as angelic on the outside as they described you on the inside. Happy Mother’s Day!

{Also a big thanks to Adam, Alicia’s husband, for being my assistant for the day. Hee he}

Sofia. Five Years Old. Los Angles Lifestyle Photography.

Let’s scream, “Happy Birthday” at the top of our lungs for Sofia. She’ll be five, yes a whole hand worth of fingers, on the 17th of this month. Life is a celebration in and of itself but of course there are certain years that should have a mini-parade in honor of such milestone. Each day of life deserves to be lived to its fullest…but turning 1, 5, 10, 16, 18, 21…(I can go on and on but you know where I’m going with this) deserve extra party hats, birthday horns, and bags and bags of confetti!

Sofia is a girly-girl who loves American Girl and pretty things in glitter and gold (like the gold crown she’s wearing in her photos). She loves being a big sister to Gaby and is an excellent student (I should know because my mom subbed for her once…I know small world, right?). If there were ever any lil gal that could carry on a full semi-adult conversation then it would be her. While chatting away, she speaks her mind and is full of life and sunshine. After talking to Sofia you’ll feel just like I did with high spirits and a warm heart. Above all Sofia’s zest for life, her bright eyes and sweet smiles are perfection, just like the rest of her.

Happy Birthday Sofia! You are a sweetheart!
