I recently had a little mentor session with Megan Welker, an inspiring and creative wedding photographer. I photographed Caitlyn and Dave alongside Megan and I felt like I was swimming in a sea of creamy goodness. This light I tell you-magical!

Their day had arrived. The day Lydia became Mrs. Porter (which she called herself throughout that afternoon and I thought was just so darn cute) and Kennis became her husband. Lydia was perfection, from her a-line lace vintage-inspired dress to her picture perfect smile. From their ceremony to the reception, every single family member, friend, and guest was filled with love and laughter. Lydia’s father was an extra lucky man that afternoon. He very proudly gave away his daughter and was also the pastor that blessed their wedding vows. The Porters did not disappoint their guests, or myself (ahem) with the cutest honeypot and a delectable variety of individual pies. The sweet ceremony ended quickly, but the fun had just started as everyone, and I do mean ery-one glided onto the dance floor. The Porters sure know how to celebrate! By the way can someone please teach me the wobble? Congratulations to a super cool and fun couple, Mr. & Mrs. Porter!
Precious little Abbie was born a few days early. She arrived on April 30th when her due date was May 2nd. This gal weighed 6.17 pounds and 19 inches. Her mommy, Erika, may have had a c-section, but bounced right back in no time. Go mom! To say I’m delighted for Erika and Ryan is an understatement because in just a few months I will photograph this sweet family of three’s (now) wedding. We were all chatting about how adorable Abbie might look as a flower girl. I think she deserves that job for sure! Stayed tuned folks, stay tuned! Congratulations Rafael family you make having a newborn seem effortless!
Baby Mateo Estevan arrived a week early on May 13th at 2:30 pm. He weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 inches of pure handsomeness! Big brother Andres plus little brother Mateo make Jessica and Steven’s family of four complete! Thank you for welcoming me into your home to share in some of these priceless moments. Congratulations to all of you!
Oh my sister’s wedding is just around the corner. She wanted a very specific look for her Save The Dates, so we tried the same pose a few times. If you think you are seeing double, you probably are! I also put my creative spin on a few of the photos too. My sister and her “Fifi” (short for fiancé) as she likes to call him are just glowing in each and every pose. Maybe it’s their love or maybe it was the glow from this awesome neon yellow tree behind them. Just kidding. They are madly deeply! Can you believe these are the all images that didn’t make the cut…yep the rejects. lol I just received their Save The Date and they are fab-u-lous! Polaroid like magnet-yes please!
Love you sisto and I guess Omir too. lol jk
These two! Sedona (6 years) and Austin (7 months) are named after cities, so what better place to have a sister and brother session right in the heart of the city they live in, Echo Park. She likes Hello Kitty and he enjoys toy cars. Together they like to giggle and snuggle. Sedona, like most big sisters, loves to give him lots of hugs and kisses, and like any boy, her brother is just realizing all that ooey gooey stuff is a little gross. So he likes to wiggle out of her tight grip and she just laughs it off. Throughout the session both kiddies were posing like perfect little statues. Sedona was super charming. She danced, kart wheeled, and was pretty much fully animated the entire time I was snapping away. At the end she even serenaded me with my son’s favorite song, “Let it Go.” Austin was a chill little dude. He laughed, rolled over a bit, and played wherever we sat him. Sedona and Austin’s mama is one lucky ducky! She’s got a precious pair!
I’ve known Alicia’s family for some time now. Her big brother and his wife are our dearest friends. So, I’ve seen Alicia grow up from a little gal to a lovely lady. When her mom asked me to take her senior portraits I felt like a cool kid in high school. You know, kinda like I was apart of Cher, Dionne, and Tia’s crew. Because their family only rolls with the coolest thangs.
She’s pretty, smart, and athletic. What more could you want in a high school student? Alicia is graduating this May from El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera. She’s ready for the world and excited to start college and after she might set up her own catering service. During our session I thought Alicia was a runner because she was able to change it to so many outfits so quickly. Believe it or not this lil thang throws shot put for her track team. You go girl! Congratulations Alicia you on fire!
My sister already has an ultra fabulous and talented wedding photographer, but she asked me to take her save the dates. Here is a peek!
