You’ve been in my dreams, my dear, since we started our little family. I longed to hold you tight, kiss your sweet lips, and love you to pieces. Can you believe I am your mother and you are my daughter? I have a daughter! One year ago my mind and body transformed for you. Although I know you are still just a wee lil thing, it’s your birthday! I promise you that you will have my love forever and I will guard you from your fears. I will not only give you wings, but teach you how to use them so you can reach way beyond your dreams…reach so high that you grab whatever it is you want and it will become a reality. For you my dear, I will try my best to gather all the wisdom and experiences that I have learned from family, friends, and educators so that I may sprinkle just a bit of that knowledge upon you everyday. When you are all grown up, you will be as gentle and beautiful as a butterfly, have the strength and wisdom of an elephant, and with just some of the lioness fierceness on the side that will drive your ambition. But most importantly I will teach you to have faith in God, that he will be there no matter what life’s circumstances are and He will give you all the strength to endure this dream-like life.

I love the way you call for me when you need me to protect you from your brother’s tough love, when you’re hungry, or when you just want some comfort. Your quirky side crawl makes me laugh and Daddy and I think it’s just too cute and funny when you scoot around in circles. I love the way you enjoy food as much as I do and sometimes you get hangry like me. Thank you for being such a good napper, ha! Your kisses are some of the best (you’re in a three way tie with your brother and daddy). Not only do you resemble your late great-Nana, but you also have her personality and at times I catch you creating the same facial expressions. This melts my heart and makes me feel as if this is God’s way of allowing me to have a little piece of my Nana still with me.

Thank you God for brining me a lovely baby girl. I cannot wait to watch you grow and enjoy this life with you. Happy Birthday Mamatita!

Carrie & Jason. Engagement. Orange County Wedding Photographer.

Carrie and Jason’s love story began around the time of their college days as they were both studying to be sign language interpreters. What are the odds of finding someone you were smitten with share the same unique passion? Carrie and Jason did just that…they found each other in one of the most uncommon occupations and fell hard. A few years after dating he popped the question with a ring that no girl would resist. She said yes and now they continue to be madly in love and eager to begin their life together. Carrie and Jason had such a go-with-the-flow type of attitude, which I love, because they trusted my judgement. YAY! So, when I asked them to climb up a semi ant-infested limb of a rather large tree, they had no second thoughts or reservations. Carrie even did it in the sassy little number that she designed and sewed herself. How rad is she?! And if you look, the photos came out just lovely.

Love again, breathe again, and hold on just a bit tighter….let love last. Karina and Joe, formally renewed their vows through the Catholic church. Fifteen years later, and with every bit of joy and passion, they said their “I do’s” again. It was intimate with just the most important people in their lives celebrating their love for one another at St. Hillary’s. Gosh I hope I look as stunning and as graceful as Karina did in her floor-length cream maxi dress. Joe you too paired just perfectly with your bride. Thank you for allowing me to relive your beautiful marriage ceremony and showing me a glimpse of the complete happiness of being together with your true love for fifteen years (by the way I’m already starting to plan out my renewal…he hee).

Oh what a joyous day this was for Jason, Justina (how cute are their names?!) and all their family and friends. Hands were tightly holding onto damp tissues, hugs were embraced just that much longer, and sincere words were spoken by loved ones on that lovely afternoon. Jason and Justina have been together for quite a while now which has only made their love that much stronger. These two traveled back home from their current residence in San Francisco to celebrate here in Southern Cali. Of course they brought along their “doggy-child” to the wedding. This happy couple absolutely looked as marvelous as one of those romantic wedding movies with Dermot Mulroney ( My Best Friend’s Wedding), which always ends with him getting the perfect girl like Justina. “Yes, you’re (both) lovely, with your smile so warm”…for some reason Jason and Justina had me hearing Frank Sinata’s “The Way You Look Tonight” going through my head throughout the entire ceremony. Congratulations Jason and Justina! Your true love was inspiring to everyone around you and it was amazinly displayed that afternoon in every way imaginable!

I absolutely adore all of these outta-staters that are gracing me with their sweet families. Cam & Kristine are originally from California but have planted themselves in the one of the Four Corners states, Arizona. Although they love their too hot to handle state, they often miss the breezy beaches that us Californians (like myself) often take for granted. So, while it’s 112 degrees back in AZ, Cam and Kristine will be partying and keeping it cool at his twenty-year reunion as well as hanging out at family birthday party all in one weekend. Yup, they decided to make it a short family trip and get a photo session in with ME while they were here in town. Do I feel special? I sure do!!! How spoiled was I to also photograph their blonde-cheerleading babe, beautiful dancing brunette, and spiky-haired baseball hunk?!!! These three literally made it feel “like a day at the beach.” I’m usually either photographing just adults or newbies and tots, so when I get to hang out with the big kids, I feel like I a sixth grade teacher all over again. Except…instead of hearing whining because I assigned too much homework I get to hear the fun stuff about boys and latest trends in clothing. Cam and Kristine, thank you for being super cute and allowing me into your lives for a peek of how life is with three teenage (and pre-teen) kids. You guys make it look easy with your kiddos that were ever so uberly-well-behaved!

My little royals fill me with happiness and love every stinking moment of my life. I want to bottle up all of this goodness and keep all of their tenderness and purity frozen in time. So since I can’t, I will continue to photograph my loves in every capacity, every season, and every holiday that I can. Esmeralda and Steven loved one another before they were even a couple. They had been friends since high school and as luck wouldn’t have it, Esmeralda was in a relationship when Steven showed interest in her. Deep down inside they knew they were destined to be together and about a year later, he won her heart and they fell hard. After dating for some time, Steven asked Esmeralda’s dad for her hand in marriage and just like that she had the most gorgeous ring on her hand. Esmeralda and Steven are like hot sauce and a cool shrimp cocktail. They are oh so perfect together, especially during these warm summer days! She’s fiery and he remains chill, absorbing all of her hotness! I can’t wait to capture all of their love in a couple of months.

Gaby will be a senior this fall in her hometown state of Colorado. We met face to face for the first time at Crystal Cove. She was such a peach, you would’ve thought she had traveled from Georgia. Gaby’s mom, best friend and best friend’s mother made it a girls-week-getaway as they searched for Gaby’s dream college. They mention how they loved Peperdine and Westmont, but why venture all the way from Colorado when it’s so gorgeous over yonder? Well, she gave the most obvious reason. The weather of course! We will be waiting for this cheerleading, choir singing, tennis playing beauty to head back over the mountains to our sunny beaches next year. Good luck gorgeous!
