Mateo, two years, and his little sister Giselle, three months, received the sacrament of Baptism at the Church of the Good Shepard in Beverly Hills. It was an honor for me to help Mateo and Giselle’s parents document this momentous occasion in their children’s Catholic faith. Giselle was a sweet pea with her classic long white dress and laced bonnet, while her older brother suited up in an all white short ensemble. Baptisms always feel like mini weddings to me. The excitement that the parents feel and the preparation before the ceremony are all so traditional. After the Priest or Deacon blesses the children, the families gather for photos with their Godparents and soon after they are off to celebrate. Mateo was an excellent observer throughout the entire ceremony, yet baby cakes Giselle cried for a bit. What three-month old wouldn’t cry when she is getting oil and water poured over her sweet little forehead? After all was said and done, both cuties looked adorable posing with grandparents, Godparents and other relatives for their special spiritual day.How sweet are their outfits and these shoes!
