Halloween and the Fall are my favorite times of the year. The weather gets cooler, warm aromas of cinnamon and cider fill the air, and football announcers always seem to remind me of when I was little and I could hear the local high school football games during the crisp fall evenings. I just love it all! Last year my family, which also include my sisters and mom, decided to create a new family tradition. We vowed that every year we would travel a little down south to visit Tanaka Farm’s pumpkin patch in Irvine. My cute little chubba wubba baby was only eight months then and it was his first experience searching for the great pumpkin.
We had a such a blast last year. He was my little prop that sat so eagerly wherever we placed him. This year was a different story. My baby is now a toddler and does not want to sit in a field of pumpkins and look oh so cute. Nope, he wanted to explore, run, and play. I don’t blame him. Pumpkin patches make me feel like I live in a town that has real weather changes, kinda like in the movies. My secret dream is to visit and maybe even live in Salem from the movie Hocus Pocus. Hey come on you know that they probably have amazing costume parties and black cats that talk on Halloween. Duh!We are all pumpkin heads here! Ha!
